Ball Tips

Ball tips are colour-coded red on the handles. The ends are rounded to a spherical shape. The ball tip is a very good all-round tool.

Since the end is rounded, the ball tip behaves in a "softer" way than the other tips, so you can apply more force to it. Many people find the ball tip the easiest one to control. It is good for removing light damage and minor dents.

The potential hazards with a ball tip are creating a high - a dent which sticks up - and slippage. Since the ball tip doesn't grip the metal as well as a knife or cutter tip, you have to pay close attention to keep it where you want it.
